what is love??

THIS is brotherly love... we were driving and brackon said, "mom cooper is holding my hand!"
aren't these feet just precious... think of all the miles these feet are going travel!
where are they going to go?
i hope to help him walk the right paths.
i have been thinking a lot lately on the kind of mom i want to be.
how do i want my kids to remember me?
i love it when brackon comes and gives me a hug and says, "you are my nice mom!" ...whoosh! what an impression that leaves.
pressure.
a compliment.
an encouragement to be better.
it makes me think of christ.
how he treat others.
with love.
respect.
concern.
unselfishly.
i love this picture.i want to be the BEST wife i can be.
i want to be the BEST mom i can be.
i want to be the BEST sister i can be.
i want to be the BEST friend i can be.

so. i have been pondering.
what can i do to be better?
*my answer is ONE!

ONE "to-do" on my list marked off each day {feels great to know that i will at least for sure get "it" done}
ONE activity with brackon each day {i feel that it is really important for me to spend one on one time with him... i try to do this when cooper sleeps, which helps him sleep better cuz brackon is quieter.. it is a WIN WIN WIN!}
ONE "hobby" for MYSELF each day {i feel it is soo very important for us as women to take time for ourselves... can you fill someone's bucket with water if yours is empty?}
ONE service activity each day {simple as a phone call, and act upon more promptings if received}
ONE chapter in the book of mormon {i don't think i could count on one hand how many times my husband has missed reading this TRUE book since we've been married... what a great example}

i love the song POWER OF ONE:
power to laugh
power to cry
power to stand and share my life
the power of faith
power of love
power to look beyond myself and touch another soul
power of one

we are teaching our kids.
by the way we live.
they are watching us.

i am so grateful that my mom was able to STAY HOME.
she taught me how to be the BEST mom i can be!

this week, i have also been SOOO grateful that i can stay home.
i am so grateful for the LEAP OF FAITH we took when it was time for me to quite working.
that's all it was.
a leap of faith.

the blessings are p.r.i.c.e.l.e.s.s.

to me... this is LOVE...
being our best self..
it is being home. {period}. not leaving it to others raise our kids.
living as christ lived.
acting as christ did.

my mom always taught us growing up: BALANCE.
our lives need to be balance...
physically
emotionally
spiritually
financially
mentally

i feel like my life is balanced right now...
and i feel more JOY out of life than i have EVER felt!

i also really love the song ONE VOICE by Dustin Gledhill:
I am just one voice
But one voice can still be heard
I have made the choice to seal my witness with my word
Changed by holy fire, that has burned into my soul
Filled with new desire, that calls me down to go

I am just one voice, but one voice can carry far
Rising through the noise, of a world so deaf and dark
Shining bright and clear, to those with eyes to see
Honest hearts will hear, the truth that lives in me

CHORUS
One but not alone, a thousand voices sing
Praises at the throne, of our master and our king
With one voice
One voice

I am just one voice,
But a voice of light and hope
Grateful I rejoice as I share the gifts I hold
I will search with all my strength, for the humble and the meek
Praying, they'll receive the simple truth I speak

CHORUS
One but not alone, a thousand voices sing
Praises at the throne, of our master and our king
With one voice
One voice

He was just one voice, but one voice that changed the earth
Teaching love and peace to a lost and weary world

I am just one voice, but one voice that will be heard
I have made the choice to seal my witness with my word
.
